go to class, forget the book
very fair exams
Cons: grade is only on 3 exams
Cons: Hard to get in touch with sometimes.
Cons: Lots of information to memorize
Read text. Also attend lecture
Cons: research was annoying/ hard to sign up for (but maybe that was just the semester i took it) her outlines for what was on the test sucked
you NEED to go to class because the tests are from lectures. research is annoying. tests can be confusing/ oddly worded
Cons: Sometimes scattered
Passionate about material
Available for questions
Cons: No material online
Cons: difficult multiple choice tests
Cons: Never answered emails, but didn't hesitate to send out a couple nasty ones herself. Test questions were incomprehensible.
I am not a psych major (or minor) and I chose this class for a GER because I thought it would be interesting. It was not, and Pilkington made it worse. Her tests do not reflect class lectures, her lectures don't always reflect the book material. It was all in all very confusing, and I ended up with a poor grade on the midterms. To make it worse, she gave no study techniques/help and made herself unavailable to students.
Cons: Simply doesn't teach well. The things he talks about/stresses in class are not adequately represented on the tests making studying very difficult.
This rating is for Professor NEZLEK. I don't know who this Pinkington person is.
Cons: Reading is boring and heavy
Very important to go to every class, hardly ever use the book, no need to buy it unless you're majoring in psych or have multiple classes for that book.
Cons: i felt like i wasn't getting my money's worth... the majority of classes we end at least 20 minutes early because it's too hot or the class "seems too quiet" or she forgot her glasses or whatever and she's cancelled (illness, injury) class several , which is way more than i've known any other professor to do. often she doesn't know the answers to questions, which may be understandable since an intro psych course is bound to raise very specific and tricky questions, but at the same time it kinda felt like she never answered a question without resorting to "well we just don't know yet..."
